Brink of Disaster

Brink of Disaster at Applebee’s in South Austin brought to you by Texas Metal Collective.
This is the opening set of the Fuck Cancer Tour.
“Listo Pisto”

Brink of Disaster, otherwise known as “Brink” around the Austin music scene, began as a 3-piece instruMETAL act in 2006. Original members Ian Abete, Joey Vera and Tony “Frog” Deaver, first crossed paths in Austin, Texas searching for a mix of musical style, personality and vision that all bands seek in their members but seldom find. Working together they began the writing process and playing shows in Austin’s notorious Red River District with the hopes that someone would hear their music and want to put a story behind it. While playing a show in late 2007 the band was approached by Aaron “Worm” Ugalde, who not only liked the music but believed that he would fit in with his personality and vision. After a few weeks of rehearsing together in their good friend’s living room, Brink began to vibe together musically and in January of 2008 Worm became an official member of Brink of Disaster. Since 2008 Brink of Disaster has been fortunate enough to be able to bring the sonic destruction and energy in their live show to cities around Texas and New Orleans. Their approach to metal is the fusion of the musical style and influences of each band member. In the past four years Brink of Disaster has been anything but silent in this DIY music world and continues to gain momentum with every note played at every show. With a fan base that grows by word of mouth, Brink of Disaster shows that it can and will continue to create the grassroots following that is ever so important to them. As 2010 rolls along, Brink of Disaster will continue to play live shows and work diligently to become a force to be reckoned with night in and night out.

Beyond Gods and Empires
Beyond Gods and Empires at The Red Eyed Fly 10/1/2010
A soundtrack for brute animal trashing, with enough heart and brains to tackle the personal, and the political. A blender of heavy music influences played with style, power, skill, and balls. Along with being one hell of a live band. They’ll make some heads roll.
“Beyond Gods and Empires has a truth to their sound unmediated by restrictive thought or ambiguous structure, simply stated their message and method will tap a hole into your skull and change your mind.” Chuck Loesch No control 101x

About WHITE RHINO

“Rock & roll animals (Recommended show)”
-The Austin Chronicle

“Up-and-comers White Rhino throw down rough and tumble r’n'r”
-The A-List on Austin360

“Strangest vocalist in Austin (Lemmy meets Ian Astbury?). Either a monster waiting to happen or a genuine Austin curiosity, take your pick.”
-Spiderhouse Cafe SXSW

“They look and sound like they came from that side of your Dad’s record collection that he only drags out when your Mom hassles him or his boss is giving him shit.”
- Craig Hlavaty HOUSTON PRESS

“White Rhino can veer off into spacier, proggier territory a la Hawkwind, thrash it out like Master of Puppets-era Metallica or turn on the bluesy afterburners like some anabolic descendent of ZZ Top. A power trio in the truest sense of the term.”
- Chris Gray HOUSTON PRESS

“Austin’s White Rhino, one of the bands to look out for this year. I think you guys have a lot of steam built up and I think you’re gonna run over a lot of people, man.”
- Zakk United 94.5 The Buzz Houston

“Get your rock on with White Rhino, one of the newest, baddest, loudest bands in town.”
- The Mohawk Austin TX

“Their lyric’s topics and raw sound stands out among the deep pool of Red River bands.”
- The Accent

“A much younger Motorhead… with an abundance of musical talent and dexterity. There’s a craving for uniqueness among the newer, lesser-known acts these days, and White Rhino’s got it in Spades.”
- Mac Cooper (Photographer)

“White Rhino plays salt-of-the-earth working man hard rock mixed with good ol
